Dear NBWA Members and Parents.
The 2015/16 wrestling season is soon upon us and there have been many great things that have happened over the summer. The high school has a new athletic director and has also hired a middle school coach that will allow that program to recruit and continue to develop talent that progresses from our very strong youth program.
We also sponsored our second annual summer wrestling academy over the break and look forward to seeing the benefits at the high school level for those that participated. Others participated in off season wrestling camps and although the numbers were low we look forward to the success that will follow as a result of the "extra effort".
The NBWA established a completion fund that will be managed by Justin Baker with the focus on assisting those that exhibit the qualities of hard work and commitment. The yearly high school scholarship funding will be back after revising its priorities and objectives, the coaches at all levels will take a significant role in nominating those individuals that display the character traits that are linked with our sport.
I look forward to our new fundraiser, we are raffling off a 2015 Polaris 570 4 wheeler as we look to new ways to generate funding to assist our wrestling initiatives at the youth, middle and high school levels.
Please take every opportunity to get involved, support a fund raiser, volunteer your time or at the very least show up at home meets and tournament’s and support you Viking wrestlers.
